I am looking to plan some activities and circle time to celebrate that we are all different! I have quite a few circle time ideas, but finding it difficult to get my head around ideas which the children can work on for a permanent display. Mrs Ofsted recently suggested it was an area we could add a little more zest to!!! Would be interested to hear how everybody out there has addressed this with their Pre-school children....and does anybody have any songs they have taught their children?! Was thinking something very simple perhaps in another language...? Ideas welcomed..!!! Thanks Melanie

Hi everyone, Just wondered if anyone would be able to help with some ideas for mini topics or books for the topic 'ourselves'. We normally take a topic and then plan around a different book each week/two weeks but was also thinking that you could maybe have 'subheadings' or 'mini topics' within the big topic if that makes sense? Has anybody got any art activities that work well linked to the topic of ourslves. We did simple paint self portraits during our transition days & they're going to be up in the class when the children come back to school. I have a few ideas but am always happy to hear you suggestions. Had thought of doing a Matisse style self portait where children could do a whacky coloured background first & then come back to it to do a self portait in black over the top. Collage style self portaits where they could be given a face shape & then cut bits out of magazines etc to make a face could also label the different parts. Thought they could possibly…
