Has anyone tried putting the e-profile on a website? Last year we had problems keeping the data synchronised on home and school machines. A possible solution would have the programme on a remote server accessible from any internet-enabled machine.

Hi I want to put e profile on my laptop and have no idea how or where I can download it. Can anyone help? P.S I have it on my laptop from last year. Do I need to update it and how do I get new children's details on? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Am REALLY liking the new Head - so what the school needs. He's very keen to work on the transition between fs and Yr 1. My question to you wise ones (!) is that do any of you know of any school (or any of you!) who is extending the use of the eprofile into Yr 1? If so, does it work? How does it work? If not, how have you extended your assessments into yr1 if they are embracing the FS in there? How have you ensured that the assessments made in Yr1 are an extension on what went on in FS? We are trialling the eprofile next year (about time!) and I'm really looking forward to it really - I've had a lot of positive feedback on it - saves on time more than anything…

Does anyone know what to do when your e profile won't open after you have typed in password and then the screen flickers lots and goes dead? Please help - data has to be in on 30th June?!!! I have turned it off and switched it on, re-tried many times and am in need of help!

Transferring E-profile To Lea

Hi, We are haing some problems tranferring our data and i thought i'd ask you guys before calling the harrassed techs. I complete my profile on a laptop with no floppy drive or connection to avco so when it came to sending the results i exported the data (wouldnt work straight to the cd so i transferred it onto the c drive and then onto the cd - maybe the problem?) to a cd and then downloaded the e-profile onto the office computer (with avco). Profile downloaded fine but when it came to importing the data it said there was nothing on the cd for the cohort. Now i know there's something on there it just wont see it. Any ideas? Calling all you wonderful people out there..... the assessment co-ordinator at my school is very keen for us to start using the E-profile (she has just been on a course and got the impression that soon this is the only way everyone will be able to do use the Profile?????!!!!!) I am quite keen, but would really welcome advice, experiences, tips from you guys out there who are using it. Are there any pit falls to avoid? Is it a good thing? Will it save time? Just need to share these reflections with all those folks out there who have used e-profile this year. We were doing great this year until we added report comments. Then everything went pearshaped. Until this point we had no difficulties backing up to CD / Floppy or Memory stick - we don't use a network but needed to back up in case of computer failure! At the point we started adding report comments this is what happened: - Program wouldn't back up at all. Would only write to disc if we exported pupil information. Hope there is someone out there that will be able to advise! I am at present working on e profile on my laptop. I've done assessment boxes, but am now on comments for each area. The program has worked fine up to the last couple of days. I am saving the profile onto the laptops C drive and also onto a memory stick. When saving to back up your work on e drive (memory stick)the message comes up- cannot create file E:/FSPcomment2005-E8902207040322.12"The directory or file cannot be created it is being used by another process.
