(writes his/her own name and other words from memory) Sorry to be stupid, but do I or do i not give this point if they don't write words from memory other than their name (not to, or mum etc) but do sound out and spell correctly words like mum, lost, crispin etc. What i mean is, if they write a common word by sounding it out and / or write trickier words, too by sounding it out, can I give them this point. They don't write mum from memory because they sound it out. Does this make sense? and please can you help! Loads of pretty decentish writers not getting this point because they sound out words (some of which are relatively complex, eg 2 syllables) but don't know wor…

Hi, I would like to ask how much time you all set aside for working on your eyeprofiles and how often? Do you get cover? Do you work on it after school together or on weekends at home? thanks Kristine x

Hi everyone, I am just about to embark on using the eyeprofile and I don't have the faintest idea what to do. I went on a course about 10 days a go and the issue of recording EY scores came up and this was recommended as a way of recording results and data. is it straightforward to use ? My TA has agreed to go through it with me but before I start, could anyone give me any tips ? Or should I just have a go on my own. Also is it true that you can generat end of year 'school' reports for these too. Sorry to sound dim but I'm a bit aprehensive about using it. Thanks for any advice Kazz

I teach Reception and just wondered how people enter their entry data? On advice of the LEA I take the preschool and nursery records as a continuous document and enter their asessments as an entry mark, if i disagree with something i will not put it down and likewise if i feel they have achieved a point on entry that hadn't been attained at preschool or nursery (for example, things observed in the first few weeks) I will add those points as entry. After the first few weeks, progress is then entered as Autumn A. Is this how other people do it? Thanks in advance

Hi just wondering if anyone has heard of a new e-profile bring brought out. Our Year 1 teacher and CPLO has been on a course and they mentioned that there is a new e-profile which will sit within our VLE but the children can update through school, upload pictures etc and the parents can access whenever etc. I am a Leading ICT Teacher and have not heard of it just wondering if anyone else has? Does anyone know what to do when there is a change of keyworker groups? I need to take off the data I've got on my computer and give it to the new key worker but don't know how to do this. I need to start from scratch again for my new keyworker group. Also I've been given the job of regularly collating all eyeprofile data from each keyworker on a regular basis and I've not had any training. Can you use the eye profile with nursery children or is it just for reception? Thanks in anticpation for any advice, I've tried contacting our Early years advisor a few times but she hasn't got back to me

Has anyone been on any training about East Sussex's new part of their SIMS Assessment Manager package for Foundation Stage? I went on training and I'm not sure it does much different from the eprofile - and I like the eprofile! The East Sussex one looks more spreadsheety / officey - less colorful and user friendly and it will take me time to get speedy with using it. I'm tempted to stay with the eprofile, but I wondered if anyone else had decided differently. I'm meeting with the East Sussex people tomorrow and I'm going to have more of a chat with them about it. Are there any huge significant gaps or problems with the eprofile that I might have forgotten about / not noti…
