Does anyone have a job description for a Children's Centre teacher that they could share? I've been in post for over a year now and still don't have a"final version"! I've been on a course at Early Excellence in Huddersfield today and it's spurred me on to get this finalised!

I am due to start my new job Monday. I am really looking forward to it. Have done loads of preparation work, collated masses of budgets for nursery/staffing/equipment resources etc but the one thing I am struggling with is for how does your LEA apportion funding. I am trying to build in some costings for this but as yet I cannot find anything anywhere. The only thing I can find is the stuff from the National Audit office which talks about what LEA's don't do i.e. they don;t know what their costs for running the services attached to the CC. In fact the report goes on to say that they are reliant on the services telling them what the costs are which is fine up to …

Hi, I'm just applying for this post and wanted some advice. Currently teaching in reception in a primary school and this post requires me to work in children's centres. Very exciting and a new challenge but I was hoping someone could let me know what its like working in a children's centre as a teacher, in particular working as a multi-disiplinary team and how you work holistically with children and their families. Any comments would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

Hiya I deliver childcare as part of the local Children Centre Agenda on a split site. 0-3's in our family centre(open for a year) and 3-5's in with the foundtion stage unit of our local primary(opened mid january this year). Does anybody else deliver childcare integrated with a school unit??? At present our childcare children can freely mix with children only attending for education in the unit, staff share the responsibility for all children depending on the areas they are accessing. My early years advisor from Sure Start told me that the childcare staff have overall responsibility for childcare children in the setting, so not sure wether i should keep Childc…

Hi Everybody, I'm looking for examples of management structures in children's centres that are attached to primary schools. Is the HT always the Head of Centre? Is that usually just a nominal title because the daily running of the centre is managed by someone else? The extended services manager? And what about the QTS... any new and interesting titles to reflect the pedagogical and advisory nature of their role? All conventional and ground breaking models gratefully accepted!

Does Anybody Know....

......whether a sessional pre school facility can be run from within a childrens centre? or is it always full time daycare? Just heard that we are having a new children's centre down the road (less than a mile away) from our sessional pre School. We have heard that we can apply to be the childcare provider for the centre - but the majority of our customers (ie the parents) come to us because we provide sessional care - our waiting lists are huge so we feel that we are meeting a need. Any answers? Advice?
