Hi, I'm completely new to all this (childminding and Tapestry) so I'm doing a 14 day trial. I am just after a easy to use tool for recording learning and progress but am confused between PRAMS and Tapestry. Do they do the same thing? If not what is the difference? Which is recommended?!!! Thanks in advance

We have been recently told as childminders we are no longer welcome to attend activites put on by the centre. The only things we are welcome to attend there are; a monthly meeting we hold as minders within a very small non child friedly room and a group put on by a group of local perents. Is this happening to other minders in other areas and if so what do people feel about it and does any group have plans to object to the we are being treated. We are fighting for what we believe is our children right to attend.

hi every one I was wondering if any one could help. Although I am a childminder I'm guessing most paper work that is needed will be the same in all settings. I'm returning to work after a lovely long maternity leave and wanted to check if I do too much or not enough paper work per day. I was doing these daily: *Daily Diaries *Seperate nappy change record *cleaning record Register *food and fridge temps *daily risk assessment of environment *planning I was then also doing: fire record first aid check list Children's development record Many thanks Adele

Can someone share how they plan for each child and a weekly/monthly plan. At the moment I do no planning and understand I should be doing some! I currently print off the tapestry next steps for each child and that guides my activities, but I am not documenting it . HELP.

A question I have childminded from home for 5 years and run a very successful business. My partner and i have recently separated and he has moved out. Everything is amicable and the parents, early years team and ofsted are aware and happy. My question is though do i have any legal standing to still run my business i have built up in the house and can i get any compensation if i have to stop childminding and move out. My partner and i weren't married but i have a beneficial interest and estoppel as he made promises based on trust and we lived together as if we were married, that was a condition that i moved in with him and stayed with him. So how do i now stand legally…

I'm leaving my job as Nursery teacher to become a Childminder. Having used Tapestry in school, I would be interested in using it as a Childminder. Is it likely to be developed for this purpose?

Hi do you all keep records of these or use a central master sheet daily as it states in the eyfs ? I do put all info into their daily books but don't know whether I should keep extra copies and also do you keep monitoring charts of being checked or just write down times they went down to when they wake up ?
