Hi everyone Now that I am booked on a briefing session I want to start getting prepared. I know I have a long way off but I really want to get started so I am very prepared. Any advise on what i can start getting ready? Did you create the policies your self? does any one have examples of the planning you use which I could look at to give me an idea of where to start. Hi everyone, I used to be a nursery manager for a chain and my nursery was London based. Since having my second child going back to work was not an option. Now that he is over a year I have decided that although we live in a flat I am going to start childminding. Yesterday I got my code and went to book onto a briefing session which are booked up for the next month. I have been told by a few people that it can take up to six months to get it all sorted and be able to take children in . I was really looking forward to getting started. I was told that there will be a course I have to do before I can even let ofsted know and then they take ages to come visit too (o…

hI, I am a childminder and wonder how other childminders do their plannin. Have you found it easier to do topics and find activities to correspond with the six areas of learning or to focus on the six areas of learning without using topics. thanks xx

Stolen Photo Warning!

Very worrying thing happened to me this week that I thought I should let you all know about. A friend of mine called me a couple of days ago to let me know that she'd found a picture of my son and a mindee in my garden on the bromley childminding website. I told her she must be mistaken but went to check anyway and there just as she said was my photo on their website! I promptly called up the website administrator to ask how this had happened. She claimed that she was not the one who set up the website anyway but that as I had not copyrighted it it was theres to take anyway. I asked her to remove it immediatley and she agreed. When I came off the phone I then lo…

Negative Behaviour Log 1 2

Hi, I am asking the question, do RCM have such a log for the children in their care? I ask this as my grandson who is two and a half, and having been with the childminder for only two days, came home with one yesterday. Although I teach, I would never consider putting any child on a document with such a title. Thank you in advance for your replies.

Hi I was just wondering if you have a seperate bank account for childminding. I don't at the moment as my turnover is really low but wondering if this is something I should have? If so do you have a business account or just an ordinary account? Thanks in advance for your help Tink69

I haven't looked after school age children since the EYFS came in. Two of the little girls I look after have just started school, and I'm struggling with the paperwork for them. Do I still have to do daily observations and planning for them, and if so, for how long? Once we've been to the park on the way home from school, and read the school books, it's almost dinner time, then picking up time. I just can't find much to write about!! Also, I'm now minding a 9 month old baby. Do I need to do daily obs for her, or would weekly be ok? Thanks anyone who reads this
