Help Needed Re: Planning

Hi all, hope you're well. I've got myself very confused and am hoping someone can help. I'm very new to childminding and have recently taken on a 14mth old. The problem is, I have no idea where to start with planning and what I need to document or how to document it. How and where do you all document your planning and observations? The whole EYFS is still very new and I feel totally overwhelmed by it all to be honest.... If any of you can help with any examples of planning or any advice I would very much appreciate it. Thank you all in advance!

Hello. I'm in the process of updating my policies and in particular my safeguarding policy. I have a list of helpful numbers and whilst checking the NSPCC helpline number was still current heard something about information leaflets. I asked to receive them and they came today. There are a great range, from Listening to Children, Positive Parenting and Supporting Professionals plus others. Just wanted to let you all know

Non domestic premise

Hi everyone, I currently manage a Pre-school but have been wanting to do childminding for a while now. I was wondering if you could register yourself as a childminder if you did not live on the premise you would be running from? I was hoping to buy a separate house that I would solely use to childmind from so that I didn't have to make changes to my home. If anyone has any advise as to wether this could be done would be greatly appreciated!!

I want to change storage around. At the moment I have boxes labelled duplo, bricks, tea set etc. would it be better if I reordered them into age groups, or are there any other suggestions.

Elizabeth Truss has proposed changes in 2 areas for childminders. The much talked about RATIO change and the quiet under the carpet route of CHILDMINDING AGENCIES. Everyone seems to have focussed on the ratio element. But WAKE UP!!! - the agencies are going to be trialled in September 2013! Which means they will probably go ahead. Ms Truss and the Government have not consulted Childminders about their full intentions - and have no desire to unless WE force her to take that route. In order for any changes to be made in the way that the current system works - the current law must be analysed - new changes proposed and then passed through parliament to make a n…

Help! I am so disappointed. I have been fortunate to finally become in the position to consider childminding and am very excited about training, planning and working with children. We have a lot of safe space, a spare room for a playroom and live on a quite cul-de-sac close to 3 schools. One of the schools is dedicated to providing for children with special educational needs. I have developed masses of care, educational and play experience over the years and finally, finally I am in the wonderful position to offer two or three children with fun, quality childcare. I believed that I had checked everything. Booked on courses etc etc. Spoke to neighbours and explain…
