Fee Structure
by Guest- 3 replies

Just out of curiosity I was wondering how you structure your fee's. Do you have a set fee for before and after school or during school holidays? Do you charge an hourly fee or a daily fee? Is your fee inclusive of food, outings, nappies etc etc? Do you charge for your holidays, parents holidays, sickness etc etc.....you get the gist lol lol Oh and last but not least which area are you from? Sorry, I'm just feeling in a rather nosey mood today !!!!

Need Help With Fee's And Retainers
by Guest- 5 replies

Hello all, I've been asked by my Inspector to care for her baby after it has been born. She's not due until August 08 and by the time she's taken maternity leave it'll be April 2009 so a long, long way off yet lol. She's an Inspector and her partner is a teacher so she will only need child care during term-time. I don't know where to start with regards to what I should charge her as I know it'll be hard to fill the space in the school holidays. I've recently decided not to charge retainer fee's to 'hold' a place as I don't feel comfortable taking money when I'm not doing anything......but obviously I don't want to be left out of pocket. Parents will ba…

Hi im having a nightmare sorting out my polices, I used the ones i wrote for the pre-school i ran a couple of years ago but just changed some of the wording, but a childminder i know well and who has achieved outstanding thinks they are long winded and to involved. All i have done is put the policy and any procedures on the same piece of paper plus added phone numbers etc.. complaint as well as safeguarding children numbers as well as ofsted. But isnt that what im meant to do? Another example is the behaviour policey i have added how i deal with situations isnt that what parents want to see? any tips????

Concentration Of A 2yr Old

It seems pretty quiet on the Childminders section but thought I'd share this with you anyway. This morning I was caring for two children a boy aged 2yrs 6mths and a girl aged 2yrs 3mths and had set out the malleable play table in the kitchen first thing. Well they both sat there squeezing, rolling, stretching etc (you get my drift) for a WHOLE HOUR only leaving the table once each to go to the toilet ! Great opportunity to record a successful activity and observe them.

Hi, I am a childminder trying to complete a BA Hons, and have chosen to research why parents choose home based childcare - this could be childminders or it could be the use of family. Can anyone help me by answering a few questions? I am looking for controversial views too from other providers. Many thanks What_do_you_think_home_based_childcare_is.doc
