I am on the ECaT (Every Child a Talker) training course and i would like to have an open day for parents to come to - Has anyone been involved in ECat and have you had an open day? If you have - have you any ideas for the day please. I was thinking of inviting parents and children to lunch and then have areas/work shops where staff and parents can talk about strategies. and play with the children. i have also started asking for suitable freebies to make up goody bags for parents and children to take home. A few other ideas - but if anyone has held an ECaT open day before i would really love to hear about it. Thanks Sue J

Hello fellow Childminders! I have been studying for the Cache Diploma in Home-based childcare. I have so far got an A grade in units 3 and 4. I have just finished study for unit 2 and have to submit in 2 weeks! I really do not feel confident in my work and having a quick review with my tutor today has made me feel worse. It seems that as far as unit A, B and C are concerned, I my work bears no relation to the criteria!!!!????? Could do with a friendly 'chat' with others who have completed this unit. Happy to exchange experiences and info/knowledge of units 3 and 4 in return. Thank you. Rosie xx

I was just about to skip off to the post office to post the last unit ( hooooray to that !!!) when I suddenly thought ..should I sign post the sections as have done in the lead ups and first 3 submission ... but as there is no guidance on this in the pack ..wondered what everyone else may have done ? Hi all, I am a bit stuck (not to mention short of time) am currently doing core unit 3 of DPP and I am struggling a bit on NEC 2 build up assignment it asks 'identify 4 ways in which your setting complies with legal requirements to provide an inclusive environment' tutor advice states - 'you need to identify the 4 main legal requirements of your home country, which relate to an inclusive environment, and also the relevant National Standards now within the childcare Act 2006. Hi all, I've just completed the first assignment and am in the process of dotting the i's and crossing the t's! I've spent days knocking down my word count as I was over by nearly 600 words! and I've just had a horrible thought. I was under the impression (though I'm not sure where from!) that E3 (the profile) was included in the appendix and therefore excluded from the word count. Now, after double checking everything, I can't find anywhere, that it says this. Hi, I don't know if this is possible but here goes - My daughter has trainer and worked as a secondary school teacher for the past two years. she has finally come to the conclusion which everyone has suggested to her that she would be more suited to teaching at Primary level. She loves the younger children and has had some experience with them in the past. the question is : How will she go about changing age groups. Will she need to re train? I know that this can happen and some teachers realise that they are more suited to a different age groupfrom the one they trained for. Hi All, i am relatively new to this forum, but have already found it invaluable! I have been on my pre-school committee for over two years and a regular volunteer for the same length of time.
