Not sure if this is in the right place - I searched around the Forums (fora?) and thought this was the best fit. Just letting you all know about some training coming up in London led by some startlingly good people. I've had some Dalcroze training from one of the leaders and she was superb - engaging and knowledgable. Here's an extract of the flyer and I've uploaded the flyer if you need more info. Do contact anne-marie@musichouseforchildren.co.uk / 020 8932 2652 directly if you want to go along. It'll be a very worthwhile day. Hi all, I'm now, amazingly, up to the second NEC assignment in Core Unit 3. I had the result from my tutor for the first assignment this morning. A nice fat PASS which was good. Now, this is where I'm a little confused. The first question for NEC 2 says:- 'Identify four ways in which your setting complies with legal requirements to provide an inclusive environment' I was fine with this until I THEN read (wish I hadn't) my tutors 'guidance notes' (yeah, thanks) She says:- 'You need to identify the four main legal requirements of your home country, which relate to an inclusive environment, and also the relevant National Standards now within the Chi…

Hello! This is my first post so forgive me if it all goes wrong!!! I am currently trying to complete my Threshold application. I am the FS Coordinator at a Nursery School and I have been here for a year!! I just dont really know where to start and I cannot see that all of the standards are particularly matched to my experience!! Anyway, what I was wondering is, has anyone got a copy of their application that I have a read of and just get a feel of the types of information that they are looking for!! I have been putting it off for weeks now! Thanks xx

Hi, I've just finished my NQT year and have decided to build on my Masters credits I received from my PGCE by completing a 20 credit module called 'Beginning a Career in Teaching'. For this module I just need to submit my CEPD portfolio and a 2,500 assignment reflecting on my induction year. The assignment has been set out into sections, with word limits for each part. For the first 900 or so words, I am to describe challenges, about 3 or 4 - it doesn't imply that aspects in this section need to be supported with evidence. In the next section, I need to describe 3 aspects of pedagogy, which have influenced or enhanced my understanding of effective teaching…

A member of our staff is currently working towards an MA in Education. She expects this will take her at least 3 years to complete and is costing her quite a lot of money. She was a bit upset yesterday when another member of staff told her that she has an NVQ level 5, which she completed in 1 year and was part funded, and which she said is equivalent to an MA. Can any of you enlighten us about this as she says what's the point of carrying on with the MA if she can do an NVQ 5 in 1 year and save a lot of time and money?

Level 3 Certificate In Eyfs Practice
by Guest- 11 replies

Is anyone doing this or does anyone have a staff member doing it? I have a member of staff who is great but her level 3 falls outside the "full and relevant" definition and one pathway to remedy this is the EYFS certificate. She is doing a FD from September but unfortunately has chosen to do one which is not fully relevant either A local college used to offer it but have stopped and the only place I can find it is with NEC at cost of £550 or so. Has anyone got any idea if others offer it and can we get help with the costs?
