Hi all, My name is Tracy. Can I just say what a great web site this is. I'm not sure whether I am posting in the right place but here goes. I am currently working as a kitchen assistant/midday supervisor in a secondary school. I am interesting in working with children that have learning difficulties. I have spoken to the Government careers line and got bombarded with lots of information but nothing I could really get my teeth into. I am wanting to re-educate myself over the course of the next few years. …

i have a girl volunteering who has BA but cant get employed as no experience- i have read some new guidelines that state if you have a BA direct with no prior study , ie nvq, foundation degree, top uu degree they must under the eyfs have an assessed qual such as nvq! has anyone else read this? i can see the reasoning as this girl has no practical skills at all and doesnt really seem to beable to get on the childrens wavelength or have much interaction, i like to give people a chance and have offered her a part time position if she will do a level 3 which she is quite happy to do- any thoughts out there??!!

hi all, we have booked some partnership with parents and outdoor play training with a training provider called childcare consultancy. the training is on 21st March 09 (its a saturday) from 9 - 4. we have thirteen of our staff doing it, so have seven other spaces (as we can have up to twenty people). since we are paying one set fee anyhow regardless of how many attend i am asking here if anyone wants to join us. (if you feel like making a donation to our toy fund that would be great, but no obligation ) now i can not guarantee comfy chairs (im afraid it's children chairs all the way LOL) but i do promise tea / coffee and maybe some bisuits. our setting …
