Hi all i am new on here. I am currently studying BA in early childhood studies, have completed previous to that the foundation degree in early years and education. For one of my modules we have to do a 10 minute microteaching. We are going to get assessed by tutor, and peer group. I am really struggling as to what to do? Can anyone think of a good topic for a 10 minute microteaching session please? It can be on anything- child related or not is personal choice, but i am just really struggling for ideas. Any suggestions be great. Thank you Dee x x

hi everyone, Im currently trying to think of a topic to research for my upcoming Early Childhood dissertation. Need to pinpoint something as only have 6000words. I know that i definately don't want to look at gender differences. Is there anything that would hold a lot of research but also warrent further study that you can think of? I also need to think of an international contemporary issue for a 30 minute peer teaching session, if you've got any wondeful ideas for that?? like i say im just searching for ideas so any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!!! lucie x

Hi ... just out of curiosity I went to a local university open day today and found myself chatting to a lecturer and saying I might be interested in applying for the BA(Hons) Early Childhood Studies (cripes!!) possibly for 2008 (voices in my head telling me to do it.. bit of a worry!!). Has anyone got any personal experience of this course at all? I think it may be my way of avoiding paid employment for a while! Any useful insights would be welcome. Thanks in anticipation. Ann xx

Got my dates for tutorials for E123 & E124.....gulp!!!now it seems almost real. Tutorials for E124 are nice and local but E123 is about 1 hours drive away Why can't they both be in the same place? I know 1 hours drive isn't much really but after a full week at work its not really my idea of fun on a Saturday morning...some start at 1.30pm! I will obviously go to as many as I can......anyone who has already done or doing there's go to all he tutorials???? Do you think I would miss loads if I didn't get to many? What do you think? Mrsb

Hi I've not been on the forum for a while. Been having a bit of a difficult time - you know, life and stuff. On a brighter note I recently completed my preschool diploma and I heard from my tutor today that I've got a distinction. Just to thank you all for the support and help and wish everybody a merry christmas. Off to celebrate with a glass of wine (again). Sally

Dvd Resources For Observation Skills Aand Child Development

I've just discovered a site that sells DVDs to help with professional development - looking at observation skills and child development in particular. I watched part of one of the DVDs on a course today - the one called Falling Out, all about how young children resolve conflicts, and I thought it was good. I haven't looked at the price of them yet but might be worth a look if anyone is running training? http://www.sirenfilms.co.uk/index.html
