Hi Everyone, I've never posted here before so hi all. I am quite new to Nursery. I previously taught in Key Stage 1 and finished my NQT year at Easter. Since then I have been covering the Nursery class until I start a permenant position with Reception in September. If I'm honest I have found it really different and quite difficult. I am being observed next week and I really need it to go well - my confidence is at rock bottom right now - but so far have not come up with any amazing ideas. The topic will be Olympics, if anyone has any great ideas for a carpet time activity and/or group activities I would love to hear them. I am so worried about this observation, I don…

I'm playing around with the format for an new ILP and would like some feed back if anyone can help??? This would be an ilp for under 3's. I've based it on the circle in the development matters booklet. Small circle for 'unique child' name - and interests Middle circle would have a target for each of the 3 learning areas (page number of linking obs would be written next to target outer circle would be suggested activities or opportunities to link these together atm, we do an ilp for each child each month as long as they have hit target, but I feel this doesn't give children much time and often staff set easy targets that they know they can do alread…

How Are You Linking Your Observations?

Hi, I am currently looking into new record sheets for each of our Nursery children. We currently have an indepth record of all areas in the old EYFS from 22/36 to 40/60. Each development matter is listed and we date everytime we link to a particular observation. Does anyone have any good ideas or any example sheets on how you are showing what they have achieved. I have attached an example of what we have for each child at the mo. Any ideas would be really appreciated as I want to ensure we are doing enough for when OFSTED knock at our door! Many thanks foundation tracking sheet.doc

Hello! I've just found out I'm going to be teaching nursery next academic year and I have to write the long and medium term planning from scratch, starting with topics! This year they have covered: - All about me - Celebrations&Christmas - Under the sea - Growing - Traditional tales - Jungle and I need six new topics for next year. So far I have thought of - Space - Myths and Legends (e.g. pirates, princesses etc) Has anybody else got any ideas that have worked well in the past? I have been an NQT this year in reception so I really don't know much about nursery at all - please help!! Thank you!! Jackie x

Hi everyone. I am an F1 teacher in a school based Nursery class. The Head has agreed to a new peice of play equipment to go outside to focus on climbing skills etc. I have seen a peice of equipment that looks like a barrel sawn in half which the children use ropes etc to climb over, but I can't find it! Has anyone got any equipment that works really well, or have you seen anything similar? Would really appreciate your views. Thanks in advance. Kerry (bugeting for 2k max)
