Hi there I have just signed up to tapestry. I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to tell me if it's possible to back date observations. I'd like to upload back dated observations (over the last couple of months)….is it possible to put previous dates, alongside the observation, or does the system not allow this? Many thanks

Hello All, We have just started using Tapestry and it seems that it provides a good level of data but is it enough to render our use of Target Tracker unnecessary? We are a nursery school and have always had to have Target Tracker to provide the level of data that Ofsted require. Thanks for reading

Planning for funded Two Year Olds

Hello, I work in a primary school which offers funded places to 2 year old children in a separate classroom attached to 3-4 nursery. My team and I are hoping to improve our weekly planning format and wondered if anybody could possibly share theirs or give some advice. We know our children really well and do provide some great activities but I struggle getting it down onto paper in a legible format. Also I am under the impression that medium term planning is not appropriate for 2 year olds. Am I mistaken? Thanks for any replies.

Hello all I would like to do some more "experiments" with the children. We have done all sorts of activities with changing colours, balloon rockets, melting ice, etc. We have tried 4 times to do the coke and mentos experiment but to no avail. Every time the coke just fizzes gently out over the top of the bottle - rather disappointing to say the least. Any ideas? We have used different kinds of coke plus different number of mentos but still doesn't work. We have looked on u tube etc and followed instructions - but still ppphhhppp and then nothing. Also I have seen, many years ago, a bottle of something with a raisin or something going up and down? any ideas please.…

I would like to have a special song about our Pre-school, using very simple, repetitive tunes and words. In the past I have made up songs and stories but just can't get my head around this one. Does anyone have the sort of song that I mean for their nursery? They have them at First Schools and other schools locally but obviously much more complicated and wordy. I thought the children could sing it at our "leavers" ceremony amongst other songs. The other thing is that this year will be the first time we are inviting parents to the little ceremony, we have always just done it with the children and staff but we thought we would change it to invite parents. How do…

Hi everyone, I am looking for some help on the snap shot section and using the three bands of colour. How come if I have a child who is 54 months they are green (satisfactory) for emerging 30-50 and Developing 30-50?? Surely they should be different colours - is there any setting I can change that will alter this? Thank you

Morning, I have asked this a few weeks ago on the tapestry forum area but yet to have any replies so thought I would try over here We have been Tapestry since September last year and my staff have really taken it on and embraced this new way of working for us. I have taken the lead on supporting staff with training etc. However, I am feeling pretty confident with all but the snapshots and analysis I just feel a bit overwhelmed by it all and don't really know where to start teaching myself how to use it before sharing it with the rest of the staff. I know we need to be tracking children, particularly groups but don't know how often we should be doing this i.…

Hi, I'm looking for an alternative to sand in our outdoor area. It has been resurfaced and using sand can deteriorate the surface, not to mention it's been a bu88er to sweep up! (NB: We have a large indoor play area where the children have access to sand/water etc continuously but our outdoor area is a walk away from our building and therefore is timetabled rather than free-flow.) I was wondering about having some kind of gravel pit, using may be pea-shingle or similar...Has anyone out there used anything like this and can recommend a favourite? Many thanks, Jo
