Hi There, I am new to this site but have been reading through some posts. My question is...does your setting still have circle time?? We did have a circle time mid way through our session in pre school and it did work well. We had mixed views about if it was good to still do this.....so we stopped having it but today one of our lilttle ones asked if we would start having it again as he enjoyed circle time! Also we have a registration time which also works really well 1st thing of the morning once all the children are in and main door is shut, but we had a lady in today who supports us and said it was not good to have as we are pulling little ones away from …

Our setting is currently re-assessing the planning and I'm looking for ideas. Can anyone help, please! I don't think our setting currently plans around individual needs. Can anyone explain to me how they plan around individual needs and any forms would be good too. We currently obs the child and assess next steps but fnd it hard to implement. I think having new forms will help. When you obs a child do you then plan for only one area of learning? How do you make sure you follow their next step up. Do you have a form for this, to ensure staff are doing this? Sorry, lots of questions, but trying to get my head round it all.

Hi all I wonder if anyone uses these in their nursery. I am not sure of their name.... I am looking for a piece of paper for each area of the room which helps new staff and students to understand what happens in the area and gives ideas for discussion topics and key words to use when talking to the children. I have seen these in some childrens centres but cannot find a template or example anywhere! (as i dont know what they are called!) Any help would be much appriciated Charlotte x

I don't mean using children's next steps etc, I mean do you plan so you have an activity for each area of learning inside and out or by the areas of your indoor and outdoor environments or by actual types of activity? Let me elaborate.... I have come in as manager of a preschool with 61 children currently on role. I have more or less sat in on the planning for this first half term and am now at the point of questioning and re-evaluating what is done. Although learning intentions are set and children identified it has recently turned into 'all children' as we have so many to list. This can't be appropriate surely? The plans list malleable (which so far has always been d…
