Hi all, I am moving into Nursery in September after 6 years in Reception and I am unsure of how to set up my timetable and planning, can anyone share their wisdom with me? I have had looked through the resource section and not found any timetables. Also what do you do for the first few weeks of Nursery, obviously the children will be settling etc but anything else? When do you start letters and sounds? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, I am starting my first role as an NQT in reception class in September. I wondered if anyone could help me with topic ideas that I could work from that are a little bit newer to the usual as I have been told to bring really different topic ideas in. Many thanks,

Hi all, My early years advisor told me that it is 'good practise' to have risk assessments for every activity in the nursery (for example painting, cutting, cooking, construction etc etc) This seems like alot of work - does anyone have? Mind sharing? - views? Thanks x

The nursery doesn't have a computer that the children can freely access, although the office computer is being replaced shortly and the old one will go into the room with the children. They do not have a camera or anything like that and the owner of the nursery is refusing to spend any more money (linked to my 'inadequate' thread earlier on this week) as …

Okay then, want to make my observations more visually appealing for the children's learning journeys, create a scrapbook like appearance but nothing to heavy on the workload lol! I just feel that these books hold so much information of who the child was at nursery it would be nice to make it so they would like to read them themselves/see them like a story book when they are a little older Had heard of ript.com where you can 'tear' images and insert them in to documents but can't access the website. grrr! does any one use/know of anything else? thanks in advance!
