Hi, Not sure if anyone can help??? I am looking for IEP recording sheets that are in the form of a balloon, that I can write the targets in, or a train that I can write the targets in the smoke clouds etc. IEP's that you can write within the pictures. Then the children can colour the pictures once they have achieved the target. If anyone has any ideas were I can buy/download etc I would be really grateful. Thanks Sam

We have a child with us who is 5 in March. He is EAL and parent is waiting for a place at school, but there are no vacancies. We have been doing his learning journey, but do we need to be doing the FSP while he is with us and pass this on to his teacher?

We have a 3.5 year old boy. He is really obsessed by numbers. He walks round counting, often doing multiplication and getting it right!!. He can tell the time, order numbers 1-20, match objects to a given number. He started with us in September so we were pleasantly surprise when he could do as much as the rising 5's. Unfortunately he isn't interacting with the other children because he can only talk numbers. He cannot follow an instruction or adapt to routines or concentrate on a activity that is not number related and his self help skills are poor. According to his mum he is number obsessed at home but she feels that his self help skills are no cause for concern. Do …

I visit many settings and I am often told about tiny things that have helped the settings (PVI and Childminders) out and saved them so much time. How do you feel about sharing these gems of information?

Planning In The Early Years

Hi Can someone help? The Early Years team which I now help to coordinate adopted a planning format that we do because it is what we all came into to but looking at it more closely, we are not sure why! We do something at the beginning of each term called a pacer. I have attached it to make it more clear. We also submit a sheet at the beginning of each year which identifies topic areas that are used as a starting point before the children's interests take over. What do other people do? Learning Journals

Can anyone please tell me what they put into their Learning Journals. We did just have examples of work in a scrapbook and then all obs etc were on sticky labels in another folder for the next teacher but not for parents to see. We were going to combine the 2 to make one book for parents and next teacher etc but the Head has decided that general observations (wow moments etc) are too scrappy to put in and we either type them up (!) or keep them in the folder for the next teacher but not for parents to look at. Does this sound right??

Hi everyone, I've been thinking about our book corner and putting some more interesting books into it. I am interested in any suggestions of books that you have found enticing and communication provoking particularly books that challenge stereotypes such as bookks about dads staying home or female electricians. Many thanks in advance
