Planning For 0-18 Months

Hi all, I'm both new to the forum and to the EYFS. I am finding the site really helpful and wish I'd found it when I started my long pathway to EYPS in September! I am hoping people will be able to help me with planning for a baby room. My first placement is with 0-18 months and they do very little planning in this room, the plan on the wall at the moment is a weekly plan from early in October. I have started doing activities and focused planning for each activity, but was hoping people could help with suggestions on how to do weekly planning in a baby room, or useful resources that could help me with this. The other area I am struggling with is outdoor …

Assessment In Nursery

I have searched assessment but I am really looking for a little reassurance and any hand tips. In nursery we are using the development matters to record the childrens attainment, is this the way to go? As its quite a task for the large number of children we have in nursery but i can see the value in it. Plus OFSTED are very overdue and we just want to be doing the right thing. Cheers Vx

Scrapbook - Help!
by Guest- 4 replies

Can someone please help! I want to start scrapbooks for the children but we are a very poor, packaway setting. The consortium will not let me buy the ones on their website as we do not meet the criteria for opening an account. Can anyone tell me where I can get similar ones from at a similar price!! THANK YOU!

Hi all ! Today we had a visit from a very lovely Ofsted lady, (not for an inspection but give our new supervisor a suitable persons interview) she said that we should record what level of development a child has achieved on entry. We have not done this before and I was wondering how other settings find out this information from their parents. We do have 'all about me' forms that parents fill out but she said this was not enough. I would be very grateful if anyone could help. Motherclangerx

Not Enough Planning?
by Guest- 5 replies
- 2.9k views
At the moment we have a medium plan where we think about what we'll do in relation to festivals, etc. so for instance we planned to do fireworks pictures this week. Our big A3 daily/weekly plan (one large sheet), though, is all pretty much 'as it happens', i.e. a record of what was put out each day and also observations of the children's interests and thoughts about where we might go next. I'm getting a bit paranoid though that this might not be quite enough planning. Do others fill in this continuous provision plan ahead of time? Or do you pick just one area to fill in with more detail (i.e. adult directed activities)? And if you do, how do you reconcile this …

Please can anyone help me ?? I've been a member for over a year now and regularly read the posts and download very useful things that people have been kind enough to share but I've not posted before. Sometime in the summer I downloaded a document which had all the development matters statements on from birth AND someone had added on the profile points at the appropriate place. It was an excellent document which I use to track progress in the children's learning journey books BUT I cant find it now in it's original format. I think possibly someone called Fionnagh may have produced it the first instance?? PLEASE can anyone direct me to where I might find it again as I lik…
