hello am in need of a bit of help! Does anyone still do adult focused activities and complete an adult focused activity sheet, i am finding in my setting as the planning is coming more and more from the childrens interests this side of things has ceased to exist, is there still a place for it? Would someone help me and if they do have they got a copy of an adult focused activity sheet for me to look at please, getting a bit worried about this. Learning Maps

hello all, wonder if anyone can help me. Has anyone heard of or been completing 'learning walls' for their children? We as a group would like to start introducing these, they are basically a table showing the areas of learning and the appropriate age strands and you have to highlight each child in the relevant box, showing the age strand they are working through, once achieving this you can move them on to the next age group so showing progression at a glance. This seems ok but as there are many aspects in each area of learning a child may not be in the same age band for each aspect hence we have a problem. Hope i have made some sort of sense and was just wondering…

i was on the site yesterday and somone had downloaded a copy of a booklet sorry cant remember what it was or where from - but there was a great quote on one of the pages something about observations not being huge piles of writing that meant little or nothing but small amounts of quality observations - hope that makes sense - was going to download this quote as think it is appropriate to two members of staff (previous thread ) and put it somewhere for them to read and use as part of appraisal - but as i didnt do it last night i now cant find it at all - can anyone help ?

Hi, I always try to record my observations in a positive light e.g. write what the child did and/or said and try not to write down too much about what they couldn't do, however, I sometimes feel I need to record specifically what they couldn't do or struggled with in order to properly inform my planning. Please could you share with me how you record what the children can't do? Do you just record it in you're evaluation and only fill out observation stickies for children who have acheived or do you actually fill out a sticky for the children who have not been able to acheive the objective/struggled with a particular skill etc? Also, how much do you record when you do a …

Hi all, I teach a Nursery class in a Catholic school which follows the 'Here I am' R.E. scheme. This scheme indicates that R.E. should take up 10% of the curriculum (this is not including daily prayers or assemblies!). Could anyone who is in a similar situation to me describe how they include the r.e. within their weekly timetable? E.g. through circle-time/focused activities/class quiet-time and how often - daily/weekly/fortnightly. Thanks in advance Green Hippo xx
