Hi there! I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am looking for an assessment format to complete with my new starters in nursery relating to their knowledge of numbers, letters colours etc? At present I have a number recognition assessment and a initial assessment relating to the 6 areas of learning that I complete but I would like to incorporate letters, sounds, colours etc. Does anyone have a format that they currently use, as I have been told "not to re-invent the wheel!" Would really appreciate it! Thanks

Im not looking for answers here! but just wanted to see if anyone else is still feeling the same way as i am about planning? Even after all these months I still look at the weekly planning and think...'im not happy with that' yet dont know what else to do. Obviously, if someone has found something that works for them and would like to share then that would be great, but I know this has been covered and talked about for ages now In the meantime i will keep searching for that planning format that works and makes me happy

Hello got a question for you wonderful people. Could you tell me how children in your setting make choices as to what toys/resources they would like to play with. We are a pack away setting and so we have a choices board with photographs on which up to 6 children per session choose what they would like to 'get out the cupboard', the children are chosen on a rota system so it is fairly done. We also have other areas which are covered by continous provision i.e. role play area, and a creative craft/mark making trolley where they can choose cutting, sticking, drawing, painting, writing etc. So do you think the above shows enough individual child choice? help, i am a nursery teacher in a primary school. mt head knows very little about the foundation stage, so when he has been to observe me he just keeps telling its nice! so he thought it ouwld be a good idea to ask someone from the local authority to come and observe me so they could give me some feedback. my theme is the 3 bears. have an idea in my head which i hope you can help me with. thought i would do somehitn on feelings. they could tell me about how the characters in the story were feeling, maybe choose a part in the story when the beras were angry etc. they could then move to angry/happy music and respond with their bodies in an appropriate way?? then for an …
