Hi all. Hoping to get some ideas or suggestions on implementing and, or updating our planning system to fulfill the Ofsteds new framework. Does anyone have any ideas they would be happy to share? So far I have created a document that has all the celebrations on for the year, for example... storytelling week, Chinese new year, turtle day, giraffe day.. etc.. with also seasons included. I have then looked at doing a weekly planning sheet across the 7 areas of the curriculum to meet next steps.. I would be very grateful for any ideas or suggestions to improve. Thanks so much

Im getting conflicting assesments in my setting - can anyone clarify if, when assessing best fit against EY outcomes / DM, you would select the band where children are currently working (ie they are emerging / developing) or where they are secure? so IF you were to highlight the statements in each band - Would you select best fit as the band with all of them highlighted or the next band on where you just one or two statements highlighted ? I want to go with the latter as this is to me the 'best fit' for where the child is working now....but should I be thinking its the best fit for where the child is secure now??

We have a huge conifer in our nursery garden which has become unsafe and is being taken down on Monday. The children will be able to watch from inside and I think I can say without any doubt that this will captivate a huge amount of interest. I'm wondering already where we can go with this and wondered if you lovely people have any ideas? Unfortunately I don't think we'll be left with any of the wood/trunk/branches as they contain a very sticky resin and aren't suitable for play.

My team and I are exploring ways in which we can clearly see where each child is and which age band they are working within. Does anyone know if it is a confidentiality issue if we made a big display of the development matters statements in class and then added children's names on a move-able card. There could be a main next steps focus so that all adults could see how to take that child's learning further whilst in the continuous provision. We are just a little bit wary as this display will be in class for parents to see as well. Are we doing our jobs by informing parents of where their child is and what their next steps are or are we revealing confidential i…

Can I please ask on behalf of my team who are fairly new to Tapestry - can we add different age bands to an observation in the same area of learning, we have been doing this and it appears it only accepts and shows one age band - I hope that makes sense, so......if a child is achieving one strand in 22-36 months as emerging, there may be another strand in the same area of learning that they are developing or exceeding in so we would want to highlight 30-50 for that specific strand? We have been doing this as Parenta let us do this, can you help please?

Hello, I am a qualified teacher working in a Nursery. From September I have been given some time to run some interventions with some our children. It looks as though they need to be focused around PSED and Communication. I have some resources in the Nursery already but am wondering if anyone has used any interventions or resources before that have really had an impact on the children's development. Sorry if this has already been discussed before.

Hi, Just looking for a bit of advice. Do you use themes when planning? Obviously we cover the seasons, festivals etc but the staff are wanting to return to having weekly themes. I'm unsure if this is the norm with other early years settings. Any advice please???
