Hi, does anyone have a short questionnaire that they send home for parents to fill in when the children's learning journals go home? I have had only four parents (out of 25) write comments - there is a section on the learning journey form we use that is for parents to leave a comment but the parents are encouraged to add to the learning journal also. I think that a blank piece of paper is a bit scary to a parent so was thinking that a few questions about what they think about the long observations and the learning journal in general. What their child's current interests are. What their child seems to enjoy about Nursery? Any ideas/examples? Thanks Green Hippo xx

Hi everyone, I was just wondering, does anyone still fill out activity plans for their adult - led activities??? We have a box file full of them, and since September the lid has stayed firmly shut. Do you still use them but adapt them to suit individual childrens interests, or do you use enhancements to your continuous provision. ??

Gloop. Noodles and coloured rice ~ as part of our chinese new year celebration. Leaves and branches. Compost. Mind has gone blank now. Any ideas appreciated, Thanks Debbie

Hello I was just wondering how you all cater for the Unique Child! I know we need to observe children and then plan activities that satisfy their interests but how do you record this. Do you identify names on Continuous Provision Sheets? Do you write individual plans? We are about the try these two sheets. Please what do you think? Hi all, I'm brand new to this forum, and after some help if you don't mind! Here's the situation - I've just started as chair of the committee for our village pre school. I'm actually a qualified teacher (3-8 years) but haven't taught that age range for a while and don't teach young children anymore. I want to help out our leader with her planning, and she's happy to get the help. But I'm very confused about how and what you're meant to do these days for early years. Could someone let me know: - What is meant by 'continuous provision'? - How you're meant to balance 'planning' (i.e. for future activities) with the idea of following each child's own interest…

Hi there Is anyone willing to share their next step planning? I have attached my current one but have been advised by ofsted that we are doing more work than we need to be because it is going on there then being duplicated into the childrens journeys. Im interested to see what other practitioners are doing Debs Next_Steps_Planning.doc
