A_new_planning.docHI all okay, new year! new planning!. Over the xmas period i spent time reviewing all the rooms planning (and i am glad i did!). i totally now see that the staff had lost the thread of what they were doing, and why they were doing it. staff were simply taking focus areas from thin air and the planning was not individulaised nor relevant. the children's learning journey folders are excellent. but it got me to thinking how to link the stuff in their learning journey to the stuff in their planning (a cycle, so to speak!). we have a well established key worker system in nursery and i would prefer for the key worker to be doing their key children'…

Hi there, having had a term of hell working 'alongside' the should- have- retired-in 1971- FS1 manager am now manager of FS1 and 2. I have taken them through ofsted, fs2 did really well fs1 needs help, they are stuck in the dark ages. I have totally revamped all assessment and ofsted were pleased, next step planning. I would love people to give me a complete run down of every type of planning you do, from broad and balanced, long term if you have it and short term, wether you plan for the individual, group or 'class'. I have lots of ideas but i think uinitially i will have to plan for them and hand it over gradually. I know i could do a search on the forum but i alwa…

Plods

I've seen examples of PLODS that take account of the individual child's interests but I'm looking for examples where they've been drawn up for a group of children - for instance, where there is an interest in Pirate Play. I just wondered if anyone has tried this? Ideally I'd like to keep it as a working document that can be brought out again when the interest 're-emerges'.

Has any one got a record sheet that they use when they are carrying out an adult led activity? To record notes about how well the children could complete the task?

Before Christmas i attended a planning and observation course. I came away feeling very confused about how to evidence the principles into my planning. I feel that everything needs changing to come in line. I just wondered how everyone plans now have you had to re change or not. Feeling disheartened about going back in Jan.

Early Years Pro Status?
by Guest- 4 replies
- 1.5k views
Good afternoon everyone, I have a little question for you. I am currently a nursery teacher in a prep school. I have a degree in drama and education and 3 years experience with 3-4 year olds. I have been told that I may need to get another qualification. Ideally, I would like to do a PGCE or a GTP however at the moment I need to continue in the job that I am in. I have been looking into EYPS which looks excellent but because my degree is not in early years I may have to do it full time-in that case I may aswell do a PGCE. Any ideas???? What exactly is an NVQ 6! Would this be worth my while? xxxx

Next half term we will be looking at Winter. We would like to do a story on Winter maybe about a Polar Bear so this can be on going thru the first half term. Do any of you have ideas for books, songs etc. I would also like to do an interactive maths display based around winter. Also have you any ideas to cover the following stepping stone - 'Uses own methods to work through a problem' Thank you for your time
