Hi, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post! Does anyone know of any planning, weekly or daily, pro formas that incorporate schemas? I'm an EYPS candidate on the full pathway and my setting have expressed an interest in this so it would be brilliant if anyone out there could help! Thanks cathylou

We have continuos provision available in workshop areas for the children to freely access. Our children aged 2-5 (4) are altogether "free play"- as "strongly" suggested by our area early years advisor. Do you have group time where you split your children into "funded and non funded" and do you do any targeted learning in these times? Does anyone have any planning sheets they can share on the "planned" part of your weekly learning as Im going round in HUGE circles! thanks sharon

Can I ask how you or how do you intend teaching letters and sounds, would you plan to teach in sequence or in group time also having letters around the environment, sound tables etc, would you show this on your planning and if so where? Number work same as above really. I am asking as we used to do it in group time however have been advised not to stop the children now for group time as we are interupting their play. Surely we need some structure our children are 2-5 altogether thanks

I have been given a very challenging task of sorting out preschool. The team is farily new only 13 weeks old plus a couple of other staff that have been there longer. Planning went walk abouts at christmas and no proper planing system was in place when I started. The only planning documents at work is foundation stage stepping stones and the EYFS not B23 at all and I have lost my own copy! So today we did a staff meeting incoprating planning for the term (yes I know 2 week into the new term). I started planning but got met by some very looking blank faces and this was the medium term planning. I am struggling on what to do next, someone suggested that we plan us…

Sorry everyone, need to get this straight in my head! Am trying to plan ahead and trial new style plannning for september. At the moment when I write my planning I include the following: Focus activitiy e.g leaf printing. Name of staff member who is involved and for how long and where ( outside/in) The resources needed (for staff info at set up time) The ELG Evaluation issues for future Target children My question is, because we are aiming to allow far more child initiated learning do we actually write on the planning the ELG. At the moment we have an intended aim/goal but the direction taken by the children is often very different, m…
