The MD agreed with me that there probably isn't going to be room for planning with themes as themes are adult led and the majority of what we should be doing should be child led. The preschool teacher disagreed as she thinks the children get alot out of themes and she used the example that a few months ago they did a theme on space, this really caught the childrens attention and by the end they were talking bout aliens etc etc, without the introduction of the theme by the adul…

Hi wondered if anyone out there is using a method of shared key children and key folders? My boss and I are thinking of changing to this way and choosing a solution to ensure that it works well as we have some staff do really well and some not so well and should we choose the main person and then on days they not in the 2nd person carrys on, but should it be someone who the same level as they work or one that not so good with intentions of making them work well too? hey anyone out there got any suggestions or tips on this would be greatly received

I am currently studying for a foundation degree in early years and I am looking for some examples of learning stories or learning journeys. Does anyone have any advice or information on where I can go to find some useful downloads? Thanks

I love the sound of the learning walls, they remind me of mind maps which i do with my year 1 class. But i like the idea of filling a wall with pieces of writing, photos etc. Has anybody used learning walls in year 1 and if so iIwould like to know how successful it was. Also if year 1 is working in a Reception type way how can we iextend that into year 2. I would be interested in some examples of planning sheets for year1 and 2. Thx
