Hope someone can help! We send home a rhyme each week for the children to learn with family, and also practise it at school..problem is I was trying to be organised and prepare all 5 for next half term and have left my poem books at school... Does anyone have any short/original ones linked to pets/farm animals I could use? I only need 4 as Old Mac donald will be one week (not short or original but hopefully the parents might know it!!) Thank you

We have a 3 year old that comes come a very disturbed home. He has 2 other siblings aged 4 & 5. He is very angry goes round knocking down chairs when he gets tired. towards the end of the session. That's not too much of a problem because he responds to a cuddle. Absolutely everything goes in his mouth. Whilst I don't want to encourage this how do i meet his needs. Does he just have to work through the oral stage. When we see children putting play food, toys or dough in their mouths we tell them not to do it and explain why then get them to wash/wipe the toy themselves or throw the soggy dough in the bin.

I shall give you some background on the group and the layout etc. Sessional preschool 2.5 - school age mixed groups. We run two linked classrooms (messy room and 'quiet' room) and an outdoor area accessible from both rooms. We have two members of staff for each room and two for outside. When I return from maternity leave there will be 7 members of staff alt…

Putting The Spark Back
by Guest- 5 replies

We all feel a bit jaded at the mo, and need something to put the spark back into the group- looking for something (item) to introduce after the Easter break to inspire us and put the spark back into children and staff. We had planned to cover the theme/topic of nursery rhymes but our particular group of children are VERY LIVELY and love role play superheroes / princesses. Mind dead at the moment - any suggestions (nice ones that is!)
