Maths Observation

I would really appreciate your help for exciting maths activities. Im being observed in a couple of weeks by my HT and FS Leader. The whole school focus is on maths and I really want to do well but Im so nervous!! They are assessing us by Ofsted's Outstanding lesson criteria!! I teach Nursery so it won't be a lesson as such - more a focussed activity where the children rotate. My focuses for this term are counting 1:1, number recognition to 10 and matching. I would really like to have an active activity - possible using ICT or the outdoors. Sorry to ask for a lot!!! xx

Hi all. Am having an observation by Maths co-ord soon on calculating. I teach in Nursery with just turned 3s to a few just turned 4s. Does anyone have any brilliant ideas please? She mentioned it would be good to see some jottings but i've already explained it's not really appropriate for their first experiences of calculating! (She's not EY based)!

Hi guys, We have started to try and really focus on phonics with our children but it has not gone too well so far, i think this is because the staff are struggling to think of ideas on how to add this to the adult led activities they put out. Does any one have ideas on what they do. They have all watched the programme on teachers tv whiched helped a little. dd

Hello, At present, we have a Self Evaluation Form (or should I say folder), which is just plain not working. I'm struggling to get my head round how to implement it - I did write out a couple of bits in hindsight and that really wasn't good, then I popped in a few examples of items we have been doing - but then it looked like our curriculum folder! AArrgh!!! So, does anyone have some advice or an example I can use to get ours up and running? Thank you,
