Display Idea
by Guest- 6 replies

I promise this will be my last new topic today!! I have found a really good website for illustrations People who help us. Its www.itscotland.org.uk/earlyyears/resources/illustrations/people/index.asp. I used them in an interactive display where each character had a specific tool. The children then had to stick the appropriate tool to the character. It worked very well last year, so Im doing it again. One question: Does anybody have any ideas on how to do a display that either represents what the children want to be when they grow up OR what they have learnt about different jobs. xx

now if i didnt do topic's - say i did an obseavtion on child A and it come back that child A enjoyed singing along to childs CD's and sings nursy rhymas when playing etc. but when we do circile time or singing in a gorup it gets all shy and wont singing even tho the child A knows the songs - So for the next step we would try to incurrage the child to sing in big goups and when doing cicrle time, now this activity will benfit most of the other chidren aswell. Now say if i child B went to the aiport at the weekend to take daddy to the airprot as he was going away. And when he came back ot my setting on the monday he couldnt stop talking about it etc etc - could you th…

Hi Have been reading the info on focusing on 3 children a week with interest. I first found out about the idea when ploughing through the eyfs CD. This recommended having 3 focus children 1 week, then use this info for planning in week 2 and the review week 3. During week 2 you would then focus on another 3 children and so on, is this how others would interpret it? It sounds the right way to go but what about making sure you have covered the developmental matters/stepping stones? What about Long term plans etc? And how about convincing the SMT? What if you have 2 sessions, do you do 3 children each session per week , which will mean 2 lots of plans? I know too many quest…
