I would like to think of ways to include parental involvement in our children's assessment folders in our Nursery. We keep examples of evidence of the six areas-work and photos done in the Nursery. Any ideas on a fairly regular but manageable way of including contributions from home?

Assessments

If anyone could let me know how they carry out their observations and assessments I would be very grateful. I am currently taking over from a nursery teacher and the assessments need to be re-structured. I plan to create a portfolio for each child and this will hold children's work, observations, photos and group assessments. The main thing I am stuck on is how to create a method where I dont use the Early Years Profile booklets. The reason I cant use them is because the reception class where I work do not work from these profiles. Would this be a problem? If so, what alternative method could i use???

I have got lots of ideas from this site which i am trying to piece together to use. We want as little paperwork as possible as we do not seem to have time during the day to do anything. I am interested in a few posts on continuous provision. Does anyone have any documents they can share and save me the time of typing up mountains more paperwork. Also how do you use them. are they displayed or put in a folder. thanks again this is a great site i feel out of my depth sometimes but after reading other p…

Hi, I'm sure this has been covered a million times (sorry) but i was just wondering if anybody has any ideas and examples of how they collect and keep track of evidence of children's progress throughout the year in nursery. We think we might be due an ofsted inspection next year and feel we are not collecting enough evidence systematically. We will be using target tracker but would still like to find a way of recording the endless post it note observation/ focused group activities etc. Any ideas and examples would be greatly appreciated. (we are a large nursery with 2 classes in the morning- up to 52 children at one time -with 4 key worker groups- 104 children to track …
