Planning

HI we currently have a planning system wherby daily staff plan a focused area from observations made on the children. so the focus for the day may only actually target one or two children at a time (not the whole group, although this depends on what the focused area is). we then have a space for staff choice of toys/activities and a space for children's choice of toys/activities. this plan is evaluated daily and next steps planned in to future plans. what i am worried about is that the pre-school room planning does not show the areas of the foundation stage that we are covering, likewise the BT3 matters planning doesn't. so although the planning shows next steps …

by Guest- 5 replies

Hiya. Am moving to Nursery in Sept and now looking forward to it. I just wondered what you call your Design and Technology area. Just felt it'd a bit of a mouthful and wondered if there were any catchy names floating about. (I also have an Art area but that's easier to say for 3 year olds!) Thanks

Hi I am really keen on involving parents as much as possible in my settling, as I am sure lots of you are too. I have already introduced a few different ideas to the setting I work in the last year, but I am keen to develop this further, especially in the area of assessment. I thought that you all probably have lots of wonderful ideas about this area and wondered whether you would share them...? For example, the other day it was suggested to me that you could have the photos of the children on a slideshow on the computer/whiteboard each week to promote discussion with parents/children/practitioners. Planning

Please help me! I work in a nursery class and my teacher is absent for the first half term at least. Our topic is colours and I have to do the planning. I've never really got to grips with how she does it. most planning that I've seen from other nurseries has cross references to the FSC. eg. CLL 4.1, PD1.3 etc. I'm struggling and panicking about how to get my head around this in such a short space of time. I really want to do this properly as its a great opportunity for me to get the experience. Any plans you may have on colours would be gretaly appreciated! Thanks x

Help!!!!! Decided to introduce other methods of observing to the staff.....at the moment we usually use 'post its' and do snap shot obs or group tick list which I feel is not working very well at the moment and needs changing. Can you share your methods please and if possible attach some examples......so many changes I want to make and my mind is buzzing & I'm finding it hard to concentrate on one thing! I have done a search on the forum and found some useful info but would still love to hear from you. Many thanks mrsb oops sorry, just realised I/ve put this in the wrong section should be in nursery section & not sure how to move it!
