Setting To Reception Class Reports
by Guest- 2 replies

Morning, everyone. Hope your weekend was lovely and restful...the builders were at our place over the weekend, so I had a lovely dusty surprise this morning at 7.00 - inch thick dusty floors. Apart from complaining about the joys of builders (sarcasm surely isn't the lowest form of wit), I'd like to ask for some advice from the sage members of this forum: I want to overhall the current system of the transition to reception from the foundation stage we have in place at this setting, and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions. The current thing we do (which I just continued when I first came here) is that we have stepping stones chart which the room leader t…

Fsp Moderation Requirements

Received my moderation letter last week to attend mod. meeting for Feb 2007 and only just read it. I still can't understand why they ask for a top/middle/lower ability evidence but for different profile points. It would make more sense to take a t/m/l sample for the same point to me so that you can clearly see the progression? Does anyone know why this is the case?

Does anyone have any planning for this? The children use the magnets independently testing for metal objects but I would also like to try some adult led activities using the magnets. I tried a link that someone put in a while ago but couldn't open it. Many thanks.

Schemes For Record Keeping
by Guest Wolfie- 3 replies

Does anyone use a commercially produced record keeping scheme to record observations and assessments of their children? I'm supporting a nursery in their implementation of an effective system of observations, assessments and record keeping and am trying to gather together as much information as possible to show them so that they can choose a system/scheme that they think best suits their needs. I've got my own ideas on what will be most effective but I want to give them a few alternatives to promote a bit of discussion. Many thanks!
