Hi all we had a staff meeting the other night re Christmas play. It was suggested that the Nursery for the upteenth year running be the 'stars' and sing Twinke Twinkle... I really dont want to sing this song as I think it is so predictable and twee... SO HEEEEELLLLLPPPP me please. Any ideas of star orientated (excuse the pun!) songs simple enough for our Nursery?

Hi I am quite new to this site and i just want to pose a general question- why do 'they' not come up with a planning systerm that everyone can use, that is the same all over the country and one that everyone can understand. Everyone on here has a different way of doing things and while I think that it is interesting to look at the different ideas everyone comes up with, it seems that we are all being judged by OFSTED on the same thing, but how can they judge us on the same thing when every one is so different. The schools have the Foundation Stage Profile for reception class and all of the teachers fill one of these in why haven't they got the same thing f…

Hiya Once again I'm having to re-look at my planning as I cannot seem to find a system that is simple and effective. I've been roaming around here, picking up tips for Long term planning and have decided that I need to have something visible on one page!! I know that I need to visit each Early learning goal three times across the year. I have done the attached table which shows, topics covered, seasonal occasions, and which learning goals will be visited under each theme. I've also highlighted which goals are constantly visited by our learning environment. What do you think, does this look okay? am I on the right track or am I missing the point, lol. …

Hello Everyone My name is Deb and I am new here. Was lurking yesterday but waiting for a code from my LEA to get on for free. All of your posts have been really interesting and some very helpful so i just wanted to say thanks for all of your help so far. My real reason for looking on here is because I am trying to get out of going on bridging the gap training. There is a reason for this - our local trainer always tells me what ever I am doing is wrong whether it is or it isn't so I do my best to avoid her if I can. background on us is I am in a pre-school setting that is sessional for two and a half hours. I took over the pre-school in September 2004. I …
