Please Help

Hello Can anyone please help. I am an NQT and starting to panic about CLL. I am unsure of what order to teach things in. I have gone through most of the letter sounds with the children. I have also just started to do the high frequency words and they seem to be learning them quite quickly. I was wondering if this sounds ok. What else should I be doing. Can anyone tell me about their current literacy input lessons? Thank you so much for any help. Thankyou x

I was just wondering what formats you all do for MTPs? I know there are different types, but I was wondering whether there has been a case where you have shared a selection? In the Reception/Yr 1 forum they have shared a number of MTPs on topics, some found on the Norfolk website, and I was wondering whether there was any similar examples for Nursery? Thanks in advance for your help

Planning Software

Hello. When I was doing a medium term overview for this half term, surrounded by sheets of stepping stones that I was ticking off as i put them into my big spider diagram...i thought there must be an easier way. Is there planning software which enables you to highlight or click and drag a stepping stone into a document for medium term planning? I would like to just click on S.Stones and for the document to be compilied at the end. I told my hubby that I wanted to be able to do this, I also told him that it would be useful if the document displayed any stepping stones not yet been covered in the previous terms, so that they could be added. He said it was simple enough to …

Hi there - thios is my 2nd time of posting a question & plea for help on the site - had some fantastic ideas and suggestions that really helped me out when i tried before and so am giving it another go now!!! (Hopefully i will be be able to contribute to other peoples requests as well as i become more confident in using the site!!!) Any way - i am currently in the process of devising some medium term literacy planning for our reception classes for the spring term - as we introduce an alternate numeracy/literacy session and activities into the routine at the beginning oif the spring term. The theme is Nursery Rhymes - but what i am really trying to get to grips with i…

Hiya, I'm trying to overhaul my existing planning and I feel that Long term planning sdhould be key to this, so I've looked around, borrowed examples and tried to come up with something. The first one is a list of every areas of development and their stepping stones, where for each term different ones will be highlighted. I like this but fear it will be a booklet rather than a sheet but it will be a help for the staff to have all the stepping stones handy and colour coded to link to next sheets. I also think it would be clear which areas had been adequately covered across the year and show thse which needed attention?? The second is a table, where I have spac…

We are doing the Kitemark (QA Scheme) and it has been suggested that we might like to do peer observations. Just wondering if any of you do these and what are your thoughts. Sue J

Record Of Achievement Books

Please help!!! We are completing R.O.A's and although in theory they are a good idea, in practice, it is a nightmare! We have 68 children and 5 key workers. As you can imagine we struggle to complete them to a high standard as they take so long to fill out. How many obs would you do over a weekly period on each child? We are jotting down notes all the time (it seems!). Obviously you look at what you want to get out of an obs - new skill, activity etc. but to give these books substance, you have to have alot in them! Some pre-schools' 'key persons' have 4 or 5 books each to complete, we have between 10 - 15 depending on experience of staff (they have less). …

Do any of you use De Bono's hats in a Nursery setting? We are introducing them throughout the school and I would be grateful for anybody's advice/experiences with young children.
