Planning For "homes"

Hi, I'm trying to write this term's medium term planner. We had a brief brainstormimg session at the end of half term and decided to do "Homes" which is a new topic for us. We came up with "My Home" concentrating on kitchen and bedroom, "Animal Homes" and "Fairytale Homes". I am struggling to think of many activities to go with these sub-topics. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance, Karen

Does anyone have any ideas to make Long Term Planning easy???? We don't really have anything decent at the mo. I want to display it in the areas, at the moment am juggling lots of balls - reports, moderation , have revamped all observations and record keeping, planning for new topic... just can't get my head round finding a simple way to write long term plans. Help!

Foundation Stage Profiles

Hi I am new to this although I did add to another mems post oncebut it was quite an old discussion so I think many missed it. Can anyone clarify to me whether it is statutory for a pre-school which is not attached to a school but is partly funded by the new opportunities fund and part private to fill in the F.S.Profiles. I am new to being a manager of this setting and the last setting i worked towards the early learning goals (which is extremely similar and was reg with ofsted) but we didint fill in these profiles......I do not know what to do with them and its the 2nd half of summer term - took over in march pre school in a bit of disarray.....

Camping At Role Play?!
by Guest- 7 replies

Hi everyone We are getting inspected next week, and I had been thinking of setting up a campsite in my role play area. I have two pop up tents, and I was thinking of buying a disposeable barbecue, playfood, tongs, and bringing the blocks over to encourage the children to build a 'campfire' which we could then build up with coal. The problem is that I am struggling to think of anymore ideas (especially for the actual learning purpose of the activitiy). I did a search and got some ideas, but I was wondering if anybody has anymore ideas. Thanks G.

It is rumoured we are to be going onto the Cornwall scheme of work. I was wondering if anyone has used this and how they have found it. I am a bit worried on how to meet children' s interests on such a fixed scheme. Would be grateful for any opinions Jay
