Is anyone else just feeling completely overwhelmed with paperwork? I feel like I have totally lost all direction with what paperwork is really required and just running round in circles. In particular I need to do some work with my team on evidencing children's progress. Why can't there just be some more guidance on how we are expected to do things instead of this guessing game all the time. Ideally I'd like to have a guidance sheet to give to my staff to outline what is expected to be contained in each child's learning journey and how often as a minimum they should be making assessments etc. if anyone has any tips it would be most welcome at the moment! Sorry for th…

Hi all Ok after a particularly challenging day today I feel like I need some major support! I lead a school nursery (am pm sessions) for children who have just turned 3 to year before reception. We were low on numbers which is why we now take children the day after they turn 3. After a very challenging afternoon session today I just wondered how other nurseries cope with this and fitting in directed tasks and adult led individual or small group tasks too. We also have a child who will potentially have an EHCP or old version statement soon who started very recently. We do not have one to one yet and although myself and my nursery nurse only have 15 children bet…

Hi all, We are all dressing up for World Book Day and all classes have been asked to do some writing. I'm trying to think of an idea or some ideas that will engage the children in writing to do with their favourite book or character. So far I can only think of character passports so I need some inspiration!! Green Hippo x

We are developing our observations, and I would like some examples of an emerging observation, developing observation and a secure observation.

Hi there. I am really interested in the Little Big Maths scheme. I'm hoping to go on a training course just to get to grips with how it can impact on nursery (school) and reception. Does anyone have any experience of using this at all ? Good and bad ? Thank you

I am going to be the lead teacher in a brand new nursery which will be attached to our school. I currently work in Reception in the afternoons so am very excited about this new opportunity but I'm in need of answers to some questions please Where is the best place to go to find out about the funding for two and three year olds from a schools perspective? I can find it from a parent's perspective but not as a provider. We will be having mixed two and threes, as in all in the same room, do I order furniture etc suitable from two or is from 3 ok? (Community playthings have 0-2 or 3-5) What changing facilities will we require? Does there have to be a specific …

Hello, I need some help. How do you all show progression of your setting and demonstrate that what you have implemented has improved development or narrowed the gap? I don't know where to start to break down my cohort and demonstrate my knowledge in a. Setting overview. Thank you ?
