We currently have 2 little boys whose behaviour is quite difficult and I would just like a few helpful suggestions if anyone has any. First is a 3 year old who has been with us over a year. He can be lovely and chatty and friendly but if anything at all does not go his way he has a screaming tantrum, down on the floor. We tend to watch but just let him get it out of his system and then he is usually fine again. Problem is he has never got any better. You can talk to him quite reasonably when he is calm but it never lasts very long. Mum is on board. Second is a 4 year old. Again a lovely friendly little chap most of the time, although he struggles to play with othe…

Hi all, I could really do with some advice... I am a Reception teacher but I also 'lead' our on site pre-school. We are using Tapestry successfully in Reception but at the moment we don't have enough technology to use it in pre-school. So, people who aren't using Tapestry, how do you keep your records? The pre-school staff currently keep paper Learning Journals but they are concerned these don't show exactly where each child is without ploughing through pages and pages, and that they make it difficult to plan next steps. They aren't currently highlighting Development Matters and they are not sure if they should be... I feel rather out of my depth and they are asking …

Hi we are a pack away setting and I hate our dressing up box! We don't have much in way of actual clothes roughly 4 outfits rest is materials for them to create and represent themselves. Currently we have a flexi tub with it in but don't like this idea I would like a clothes stand but can not store one, I like the single hat stand but unsure yet. We have used previously the clothes stand on wheels that comes apart them tubular ones, and a towel hook on radiator cover...... So there you go that's me! How do you display yours that you feel works x

Hi, Where i work the LA require staff to do 24 hours of training a week. As the setting employs quite a few staff some member of staff only work 1 or 2 sessions and because they have jobs else where they are unable to attend the training. They are all prepared to do 12-15 hours but it wouldn't be possible for them to do any more unless they do on-line courses. Does anyone know what the requirement is on part time workers.

Does anyone have a template for planning a focus activity. I used to have some great ones but I don't use them anymore (experienced staff and I like to see where the activity ends up) A member of staff is doing an NVQ2 and I would like her to write one for when her assessor comes in. Many Thanks
