I am looking for inspiration to adapt a recipe for 'rock buns'. Our topic is 'space' (as in outer space) and I have planned to make rock buns. However, I would like to change this to 'moon rock buns' but need ideas; what ingredients could I add to make the rock buns look a little more 'interesting'?! Any suggestions?

I am stuck...... I have some children who have been asking questions and trying to work out why 11 is not eleventeen or 12 is not twelveteen? 11, 12, 13, 15, 20 make no sense but 14, 16, 17, 18, 19 is identifiable because it has the number in it. How can I explain this?

Hello I have just been reading the 2014 Early Years Foundation Stage Profile Handbook and have been looking at information regarding creating an end of pre-school report for children transitioning to reception. Does anyone NOT do this? Thanks Sally

I know this sounds a little bit strange Do you plan a next steps for all your key children each week? (our children dont attend everyday) Once you have identified next steps for a child for the week .... thought of an activity... Do you do 1 activity per child and does this just happen at some point during the week? Does the kp do the activity during child initiated play or at a planned keyperson time? Do you then write this on a planning sheet somewhere or? We have continuous provision we seem to be writing for England! Sorry Ive getting in a pickle and seem to be creating more and more forms yet I am trying to reduce the amount of paperwork I do! I cant sleep thi…

Hello So our setting is made up of 3 rooms with the 3 different age ranges. I am reviewing the planning in the toddler room and pre-school room. One thing that we have had issues with is having the space to put down planning for the garden aswell as the 7 areas of learning and sand and water play. Can anyone help by sharing their planning??? Thank you :1b

I have twins (one boy & one girl) just started with me who turned 3 in January. They are both able to read (girl better than the boy) and I would like some advice on how to keep their interest and help them in some way. Mum has already asked what reading books we have - we have the oxford reading tree story and phonic books but none of us are trained in 'teaching' reading. I went to a phonics lesson at the local school but it was done so quick I don't think I could remember all of it and as a Pre-school we are unable to afford buying into the scheme they use. I do have the letters and sounds book which bases the teaching on listening games etc. How do we as a pre…

Hello, I have a girl in my setting who likes the outside area and is often making things out of twigs. she has made a family out of twigs and becomes very engaged with them (the twigs are very small in size) she will whisper to them and put them together 'kiss mummy', she plays alone. yesterday she came up to me and said "look a circle', she had made a circle shape out of a small twig. where would I take this as next steps?
