Hi all I know there have been many threads around learning journey's but I am a little confused about what should be in mine now. We changed ours and have received nothing but praise for them we considered them one of our strengths. Now I have had a comment about them (long story) which has made me think we made need to change them all over again. In addition I do have staff that struggle with work load so although they meet their deadlines anything that made them simpler would be welcomed. what do people put in their journey's and how often and how much? This is what we do: we have a kind of social style learning journey really where we look at what ski…

Anyone have any ideas how to make 'lottery' tickets? One little boy was using a train ticket - the black strip on the back; he found a coin but of course could not rub anything off! He said "My Mum does this and it changes colour - to grey". Any ideas?

I run a Pre-school and this year in particular I have noticed two of my children writing their names from right to left. I wouldn't be too worried, but these are children who used to be able to write their names from left to right. Has anyone else experienced this?

Would love some advice on how you ensure that there is a balance of adult led and child led activities available to the children. How do people plan for both these opportunities. Looking to review the planning but not sure how. Need to make it more manageable. I would be grateful for any advice! Thanks

This resulted in one of the EYPs within the chain producing a set of documents that can be used for such purpose. My manager is opposed to ticking boxes for the sake of it, so I suggested using the traffic light colours to use alongside the development matters instead. (like on the formative assessment documents). She wanted the staff to write a progress document instead but my argument is ho…

do you expect children to be able to consistently get 2 from a larger group to achieve this? looking at new rising 3's with key worker, and we disagree!! looking in document not helping! few are secure in all of rest of band and emerging in next band, except for this. and it's 22-36 months so wonder what is meant - blue part. Selects a small number of objects from a group when asked, for example, ‘please give me one’, ‘please give me two’.
