Has anybody got any views on planning by topic at the beginning of the year. My school wants me to do this and then plan from a book a week. Where has this come from? I find it really restrictive.

another development matters query - it's physical development - moving and handling can copy some letters e.g. letters from their name what are you expecting? - it's obviously about fine motor and the having the control to copy letters, but recognisable letters is in 40-60, as is beginnings of correct formation

Apart from prams does anyone use online programs for their assessments etc. Still going round in circles too many bits of paper and time spent writing. Not sure if this will sort out ours problems. Also how do staff do it and when. Buttercup
