Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any information on how to do language land? We have been told we can have some training on it, however this training is not available till end of June, as they will be going to school in September I would love any tips you could give to help with their language development in the mean time. Thank you for any help xxx

I have a very sensory driven 3 year old at my setting, he tips resources from every box, scatters toys and is quite disruptive, I have referred him to the team in our area who support settings, they came in to assess him and our play plan consists of lots of sensory activities that should channel his fascinations better, I have a lot of plastic bottles filled with various materials, tipping and pouring activities, musical instruments for tapping and banging....sand and water etc but need more ideas! its the sounds and sights of things tipping and textures like glitter that get his attention, ( he also has issues with repetitive movement and rocking and head banging) Thank…

Morning everyone, Would anyone be kind enough to share their tracking formats with me? I am in a pre-school setting and am after some inspiration to revamp our current tracking which I know is not good enough. We rely too much on the keypersons knowledge, which although is vital, I worry that if ever a keyperson wasn't around for any reason, it would make it more difficult for another keyperson to pick up quickly. I also know that although Mrs O praised our keypersons for knowing exactly where individual children are at in their learning, that written evidence of this is not up to scratch! TIA

Hi, I'm a pack away setting in a church hall with no internet! I'd love to switch to an online assessment programme so thought i'd get some advice/suggestions as to what others have done. Which online system would you receommend, how/when do staff have time to update, how often and can managers check what will go online before it is uploaded? I'm sure i'll have loads more questions to follow!!

Please could you settle a disagreement, in physical (moving and handling) 40-60, how do you interpret: begins to use anticlockwise movement and retrace vertical lines. It's not the anticlockwise part but the end part. Thank you

I was interested in finding out how many of you use characteristics of effective learning on your observation sheets. I currently use them on the 2 year check and transition to school form. I also use them adults role on staff observations. Do you feel they need to be on all observations or not? if so do you have a format you would be willing to share??
