Do u have your EYFS statements written on short term & medium term, or just in short term? How do you link your planning to individual children, without writing out an ILP for every child?? Development Matters Dilemma!

What we really need on this forum is a category for our 'Development Matters Dilemmas' - it could be divided into the 7 areas and then we could just 'click and ask' - it would be a great resource! I frequently wonder how to interpret a DM statement or I have an assessment and am not quite sure where to put it; by pooling our thoughts it would help to bring a little more clarity when our heads are feeling clouded! :1b

Do you teach children about pictographs in nursery? Our children are older nursery children (between 3 1/2 and 4 years and 5 months on entry) Thanks

I am sure this has been covered somewhere but can't find anything! How do other settings collect the child's views about the setting? I mean in the past we have done mind mapping about what they might like to learn about, we do record anything they say about something they particularly enjoy or would like to do etc... we have just updated out parent questionnaire and that goes out this week. We also have a sheet for the learning journey's where we ask parents to fill in things about their children and what they are currently enjoying at home and there is a section for what children might be looking forward to doing, which I must admit we assume they fill in with thei…

Does anyone have any information about how to plan weekly sessions to effectivly include 8 full time children mon, tue and wed morning and another 8 wed afternoon thur, fri. It's doing my head in trying to plan so that every area is covered but so that the fulltimers aren't repeating what they did in the morning session.
