Hello all, I'm currently in a preschool setting for my Early Years Teacher Training and I'm acting as a Key Person for some children. One child has EAL and I'd like to conduct a communication and language assessment/audit to gauge his levels of development. He's going to school this September and has a rather 'fleeting attention', does anyone have any suggestions for what I could use? Since I'm making a topic, I'm also required to create a resource to support communication and language development. I'm going to try to create something to support the aforementioned EAL child, does anyone have any ideas? What has worked well for you? Thank you in advance!

Having read Anna Ephgrave's 'Nursery Year In Action' in the summer, we have implemented a lot of her fab ideas, and are 'planning in the moment' in practice but are unsure how to record it. Is anyone else doing this? Would you be able to describe what your written planning looks like? Thank you!

Just never seem to get the planning right although children seem to be doing well so we are obviously doing something right. We are a small pre school in a school,17 on role.We plan a next step for each area of learning each half term, each week we focus on an area of learning and don't pre-plan too much we just observe the children and collect an observation from their play and interests, this then gets written up onto Tapestry and assessed. We don't have very much written down at all just a CP sheet which staff fill in and a plan of an activity on offer each day if they wish to participate.Every 7 weeks I go through Tapestry snapshots with staff and their manual tracking to…
