Has anyone got a good quote that sums up the importance of learning through play? I'm delivering a workshop to parents this week and just wanted a quote that might stick in their heads. Also has anyone come across a simple leaflet/article on the importance of play - looking for something that isn't to wordy! Had every intension of making one but time is running out and I really want to go and play in the woods today!

I am currently studying a BA in education and was hoping you might assist me in my research project. As part of my independent study I am researching whether a preschool setting can have a positive/negative influence or effect on a child’s physical activity in the home environment. I am struggling to get enough completed questionnaires to form any discussion and would be grateful if you could spend some time to complete the short questionnaire at the link below. All data will remain confidential and will help validate or critique my own findings. thank you for reading, hope you can help link is- http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RKXQF7X

Children's intertests

can I just ask how do people record children's interests... or don't you? I understand about planning from the children's intetrests and are fine with this I'm just not sure if this should be documented and if so how. Also do you all look at interests for every child every week or just what comes up that week as obvious interests from whoever.... problem I see with that is you might always be focussing on interests of same children . don't want to create lots of paper work recording if not needed. any enlightenment gratefully appreciated!!!

Hi! Just wondered how many grids people are using to track progress - we are in a maintained nursery. It has been suggested today we have too many for each child, so I am interested to see what others are doing!
