Hi, looking for a new name for our version of a learning journey. There is nothing wrong with calling it that but I was wondering if there is something a bit more child friendly to call it? Any suggestions?

Hi Does anyone else use the Leicestershire progress from the start documents? Do you include children's individual learning trackers in their progress summaries? and do you keep their learning tracker in their learning journey so parents can see it? Our early years advisor told us not to do the two things above but after reading the new guidance I think we should be

Hi, reviewing what can and cannot be given for snack. A lot of what we know as "unhealthy" or "unsafe" are from hearsay and I wondered if there is an approved list? I've tried googling but can't find anything. I ask because I like the idea of a trail mix (dried fruit and seeds) but i don't know what seeds are child friendly if any at all as they could be a choking hazard? Bit puzzled, please help lovely people!

Bumped into an area eyfs trainer yest who asked me if I was 'enjoying the break', I replied "ok apart from changing all the paperwork"........."what paperwork ?" she asked, so I tell her all the usual and being prepared for revised eyfs particularly....."oh that only needed a little tweaking" was the reply !!!! So apart from new registers, staff rotas, grouping sheets, funding estimates, key group lists, birthday board, name badges, file all paperwork of those now moved on, fees invoices, ensuring risk assessment forms, accident forms, medication forms are all restocked and changes to policies and prospectus' as necessary, organising the sept Agm as no one on the comm…

Ohh shuggs , wrong section!! Could this be moved to the nursery section please??? sorry Right after looking at many planning ideas from this forum and seeing some very complicated ways of recording the information needed, even though they are very good, i have decided to try and develop a simple way. I might have missed some key ingredients by simplifying it but let me explain each step. Ok the 1st form we always use everyday whilst the children are in freeplay / child led activities.. this is a simple form for quick notes that we can record. This will help us to see exactly what each child seems to enjoy the most, ie be most interested in. This is one of the …

So I have been trying to put together some new planning formats for Sept and have come up with this. Any feedback, advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated - I keep changing my mind about what to do! Keyworkers plan for individual children on the enhance provision sheets and I plan activities/experiences to offer a broad range of learning areas and outcomes. Planning format.docx
