D0 any of you working with babies and toddlers have specific policies and procedures in place involving babies. Could i have example copies of these policies/procedures or could you give me a brief outline of things to include in them. Cheers Leo

Not sure if these books are mentioned anywhere else on the forum, but, The Little Baby Books from Featherstone Education are fantastic. There are 16 books in the series for about £4.95 each and they have basically transformed planned activities within in our under three's section. Well recommended

Hi Everyone We have recently received our birth to three matters pack (after a long delay) , but have not put it into practice as yet. Has anyone started using it? How was it introduced? I'd be really interested to find out about people's experiences. I manage a 40 place LEA community day nursery. We currently cater for children from 12 months but are planning to take from 4 months next September (2004).

Hi everyone, seems strange to be in the BTTM site as opposed to the nursery or yr1 forum. But i've been asked to teach a module on the childcare course- advanced cert for wroking with babies and i would like some input on how to approach this topic, how to teach it. or startingpoints. Any good authors i should be referring to and any good webistes i could get information. Also i noticve that there has been talk and discussion about the planning sheets that could be used by keyworkers in the bieth to 2 age group. could i have any examples please. Thanks in advance Please HELLLLLPPPPP

Pre School Support

Hi, Recently found this site and think it is fab and has given me a lot of useful ideas. I am from Bedford and run a small pre school with 33 children aged 2 1/2 - 5yrs. Unfortunately I have not found much help and support so I have started up a 'Pre School Group'. We share ideas, resources, advice, contacts and have also just come up with the idea of toy trials. As we all know new equipment can be costly, and you never know if it will stimulate young minds or be left in a boring pile. This weeks nursery world has an article outlining the way Ofsted are going to be carrying out inspections from next year. These inspections will take into account Birth to three, the national standards and the education of 3-4 year olds. We take children from 2 and a half and so havent really looked at the BTTF, much less planned to it.

Nappy Times?
by Guest AllyB- 6 replies

I know this website is dedicated to the foundation stage but..... what time settings do nurseries use for nappy changing? I imagine you have to change the nappies at regular intervals but how regular? And if a child has to be changed in between these intervals do they get changed at the next nappy time or so many hours after they nappy was changed...OK so now i'm even more confused! I've only ever worked with preschool before so never really come across the nappy thing before! Please help!
