Bttm Training!

Yesterday I attended the first training session in my area for BTTM. It was good to get together with practitioners all in the same situation, everybody felt the same!!! Yes, the pack is good! Yes, its what we already do in our settings! WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO WITH IT!!!!! Everybody was screaming out for a planning format to follow, but they hadn't prepared one!!!! So, at the end of the day hopefully we will have achieved something by sending the trainers away realising what it is that we all want. If anybody else has better luck in their areas and you are lucky enough to get your hands on some planning sheets please let me know!!!

I'd be really interested to hear how people are using birth to three matters to plan for babies. I work with babies aged 3 - 12 months and although we follow the birth to three matters publication my planning isn't linked directly to the headings given in it eg a healthy child etc. Currently we work on a 4 week toy rotation so that the toys are varied each day, a 6 week theme such as "myself" and we incorporate any holidays/festivals into this eg. Chinese New Year etc. The theme invoves planned activities linked to the topic - art, craft, songs, stories and displays both as a group and with key workers. A big part of the day is spent nappy changing and feeding but in…

Hi Everyone Myself and two of the nursery staff are attending some training around BTTM during October. It is being funded by Birmingham EYDCP. Hopefully I'll come back with a better understanding of the format and some suggestions of implementation. I'll keep the forum posted. Anyone received any training around Birth to Three Matters? I'd be interested to hear.

Hi everyone, I am needing a little bit of help with my dissertation module I need to be able to carry out a questionairre to conduct my primary research and I was wondering if there is anyone out there who wouldn't mind spending a moment of their time in answering some questions for me!!!!! I would like to find out how various settings are using the birth to three matters framework and the impact on which it has had on your settings. I work in a private day nursery on the outskirts of York and within our setting I have come across many barriers that I feel have got in the way of putting the birth to three framework into practice. Hi all, We obviously plan for all our children using the stepping stones from the foundation stage - i was told by my accreditor that we should not be following this for our 2 1/2 yr olds as they should be following the birth-to-three matters. This is fine but we have had as yet no guidence on this and am not sure what to to for them apart from giving them a key worker and doing basic observations etc..... Any ideas???

Do You Know About Mobile Creches?
by Guest- 8 replies

hello. Just found this site - very informative. I am a dpp-trained ex-pre-school leader now with 3rd baby. I currently run a small, part-time creche. I am wondering about future directions, including mobile creches. Does anyone know the pitfalls/bonuses of setting one up? Hope this is vaguely relevant to this site. Thank you.

Hi Everyone - It's been suggested a couple of times that we provide a separate forum for birth to three matters topics. So in my last act before disappearing off on holiday - here it is! Best wishes - Steve.
