The guidance says we have to do this two year check between 24 and 36mths. think I have worked out how I am going to record it i just need to know when is everyone going to do this. We are a playgroup term time only. The children I be a mixture of existing children already on books some still two but most 3 so would be able to do something on existing two year olds. My dilemma is the new children some will be 2 and some 3. it will take until christmas to get them settled and really get to know them. How and when are you going to do yours? (think my staff will all leave when they see how much work i have for them thought it was suppose to be less) many…

For my EYPS training I am doing activities for a 2 years and 8months child that have a global developmental delay. She just recently made her transition to the toddler room because of her delay. I want to do some activities to support her numeracy and literacy skills. The child does not talk. She only makes humming sounds. This will be a good opportunity for me to experience/understand how to support young children with this can of condition. I have been speaking to other professionals working with this child but I was thinking it would be a good idea to get more ideas for nursery professional using this site. Thank.

Hiya, I may be able to access some funding for Sensory Resources for our babies 0 - 18 months. Currently a charity is funding a taxi each week to take 4 babies at a time to the local Children's Centre to visit their Sensory Room. I would like to re-create something similar for under £500, any ideas? what would you put in it? where would you buy from? any advice, very gratefully received!! Thanks Carla

Our baby room is up and running but I wonder how people cope with the different ways parents want you to get their babies to sleep. One baby needs to be rocked -wait for it - for up to an hour and a half!!!!! another needs patting, while he screams, another music, etc etc. It was a nightmare today as the screamer and the rocker were tired at the same time, my arms were killing me rocking him. We are fortunate to have 2 bedrooms although one isn't up and running yet, so we moved a cot through, but this isn't ideal in terms of keeping a check on them. Do parents seriously think it's ok to send them to nursery with this type of sleep habit!!!! Our two 2 year old…

I've devised a daily 'what i did today' form for my baby rooms but I wondered what people did with them. I was going to send them home with parents but now I'm thinking that we need a copy to stay a nursery. I really don't want to photocopy them every night... Does anyone use a folder that they send them home in and the parents bring back? or any other good ideas? thanks!

Hi Just after some advice and support please? I have been asked to lead our twos room which is great, but I am feeling really nervous as I have not really worked with the twos before. My manager feels it will be a good string to my bow. I have been looking at previuos posts but wondered if anyone could help by advising me on how you plan etc and tips on room set up. Many many thanks xx

We are frantically getting ready to open our new day nursery in September - decorating it ourselves at the moment to try and save the £20,000 we were quoted - it's hard work especially as we are working around the builders! I need to create some forms for using to discuss with parents their baby's routines etc. Could anyone share their format with me? thank you! x

The nursery I work in has only been open for 11 months. Currently we have a Baby Room 3m-2y and preschool room 2y-4y. From September our numbers will have grown sufficiently to split our rooms further, we aim to be fexible and group according to development however the rough age split would be 3m-18m, 18m-3y, 3y-4y. We will be very much starting from scratch with room layouts and provision etc, I feel at the moment we do have enough resources etc for the middle age group. So my question is what are your must haves in terms of provision, equipment etc for the 18m-3y age group. I would love to hear your ideas and suggestions Thanks Kirsty
