Child Friendly Cameras?
by Guest- 8 replies

Hi there, I am interested in buying a camera for the children in my reception class to have free access to. We obviously have an adult camera to take pictures for their learning journey's, but would like a child friendly one for them to use independently. I have spoken to someone about the V-tech one and I heard that although it was child-friendly, it was only 2 mega-pixels so the pictures were pretty awful! Has anyone used the Digicool one from ELC? Or can anyone recommend another? Many thanks x

Hey guys, Please can someone help me!!?? This year is proving to be an uphill struggle and feeling very unsupported! I have a little boy who is autistic and working within 30 - 50 months. I can't find anywhere a set of the points just for these months and really haven't the time to type them all out myself. I have been making obs along with his 1 to 1 TA but am panicking that I'm not doing things properly and recording assessment - also what happens with his eye profile!? Sorry for all the questions Feeling like an NQT all over again! X

Hi everyone! Can anyone help me please?? I have just managed to get a job in a reception class in a three form entry school. This is my first job as an NQT and I love it. The team at school- both children and staff are an absolute delight. However, their planning is so structured and there is no evidence of planning for the children's interests. I want to turn this around but dont know where to begin. Should reception have long, medium and short term plans and if so, what should they look like if we are to think about personal learning for each child?? Does anyone have any plans that they could share with me that have worked for them? The other big question is …

Hi - We are doing celebrations as a theme this half term, have already looked at Harvest, Diwali, which is developing into a mini light and dark topic, and want to cover Hannukah before Christmas. The children are all white British but 2 chn are Hindu, though one is not practising and the other couldn't tell me anything about Diwali. So it's important to cover oterh faith religious festivals. I'd like to look at Hannukah at the end of November and want to pencil in some ideas on my planging. I used Wales NGFL site for Diwali which I would strongly recomment but they don't have anything on Hannukah. Can anyone suggest a good resource site for Hannukah for reception. …

Target Setting In F2
by Guest- 11 replies

Hi I am in need of some ideas. In line with the whole school I currently set targets for LSL, NLC and W for my class of 18 F2's. The targets are set from the profile data collected over the term, adjusted accordingly and shared with the children at the beginning of group times. My problem is that this is just far too much information to keep the children up to date with. No sooner have they got their heads around one of their targets than we are moving onto the next. Let alone trying to cope with knowing a target for more than 1 area! How does anyone else do this? Do you have 1 target for the whole class for a set period of time or do children have individual or/an…
