Hi everyone, I'm new on here! I have on interview on Wednesday for a Foundation position and have to plan and set up an outdoor activity for 5 children to promote child initiated learning and then teach an adult-led phonics lesson for 5 children introducing the letter L. I'm really struggling, any successful lessons or good ideas would be great! Thank You! x wink.gif Thought about incorporating a puppet somehow, sorting L objects for phonics and making mistakes which children have to correct or the Silly Soup activity from Letters and Sounds??? Any help would be much appreciated!?

Hi all I'm a supply teacher out to make a good impression in reception, I've been mooching aroung the forum and would like to improve the outdoor provision. If I attached some acrylic to our fence, what paint would we use that washes off and how much of a mess would it make on the new surface! Thanks jan

A while ago I downloaded some plans for different role play areas and the plans identified the learning and resources etc. they were brilliant and I saved them to my computer but sadly my comp has wiped its memory when we moved house!! Im trying to google them but cant find them anywhere?? Anyone any ideas? I think there were also some for sand / water. I remember printing out and tweaking the hospital role play one. I would love to find these again. Anyone know the ones I mean? Thanks Jo xx

I have a severe baby brain still. I've just returned from maternity leave and don't seem to be able to think of a single fun and creative thing!!! In reception we are doing weight. Earlier in the week the chn will have been introduced to scales and parcels, heaviest & lightest etc. I need to put it into a fun 'problem solving' whole class activity for the end of the week. Any ideas gratefully received!!!!! Thank you in anticipation.

Ok - need your help my brain is a little slow today! Am being observed by the head on Tues and this week have decided to focus on Postmen etc with a link to christmas - we are going on a walk later in the week to post out Santa letters, we have a post office role play to go with our home corner (which has xmas cards in it so they need to visit the post office) we are using a good IWB book found on scholastic about a postmans day and to build upon their learning last week which was 3D shape we are going to be wrapping parcels for the postman to deliver. Hi everyone. I am wondering if anyone has an wonderful ideas to help develop my investigation area. In September I noticed the children weren't going in this area much. I re-vamped backing it with Dora the explorer paper and putting colour paddles magnets and discovery bottles in there. The area then became popular but has now died down again. Does anyone have an ideas of anything else I can put in here. I also have a discover tray where I put coloured ice ice balloons shaving foam alphabet spaghetti (an area for messy play) which the children do love.
