I have seen them in various Nursery's/Reception Classes ... It says something like .... When we are playing in the sand we are ..... moulding, etc. or When we are playing in the sand you can ask us ...

I have a very bright child in my reception class who is already writing sentences and reading whole books. I envisage that she will meet all the ELG well before the end of reception as she is already meeting 6 or 7 points. I am thinking of how best to extend her. I thought it would be useful to begin using the APP sheet but would almmost like something in between, with the ELG and the AF from APPs that link to each scale point so I can be between the two. Has any body sat and gone through the APPs and matched to appropriate profile points? Do people feel this is appropriate?

Hi I am trying to change my long term planning for reception just wondering if people are using just the early learning goals or using the earlier objectives in development matters e.g starting with the 30-50 months development matters. If anyone could show me an example of their long term and medium term planning that would be great as I have someone from LEA coming in soon.

I thought I'd got it sussed by taking them from Development Matters/ELGs but now the EYFS adviser has told me that I need to write my own so I'm confused again! Can anyone help please? Thanks

Hello everyone, I need a little bit of help. I have an observation next week, looking at writing in FS. Our topic will be Postmen so I have planned the following activity: Intro: have a parcel delivered to the children with a collar inside and a note from Pat saying he has lost his cat. He needs our help. I have planned to take the children out into the garden to look for her for 5 minutes then back inside to think about ways to help (hopefully someone will suggest lost posters as we have been talking about them this week for police topic). Model writing a poster on board and children to sound out 'lost cat'. Main: Make lost posters with top 3 groups - writing …
